Brixham Visitor Map
A self-initiated project, undertaken to address a clear and demonstrable need. Tourists and visitors to Brixham frequently fail to discover many of the town’s distinctive townscape characteristics and its surroundings. As a former resident, and someone who was frequently asked, “Where is…?”, the necessity for a pocket map guide was compelling. The extracts provided are from the initial test of an A6 pocket guide; A3 version when unfolded.
Despite the self-evident advantages of such a product in promoting understanding and encouraging exploration (and subsequent spend), there was no support for the initiative, even though the map was well-received during testing. This was yet another case of those responsible not knowing what they didn’t know, though thought they knew better; sadly, an all too common scenario these days.
