Interconnect Birmingham Cartography

Cartography

Extract from the map

Jason was initially commissioned by City ID in 2012 to help them develop a comprehensive and extensive map of Birmingham city centre in preparation for the Interconnect Birmingham project. This project aimed to integrate wayfinding for pedestrians and cyclists with the existing public transport network. The mapping was sourced from orthocrectified aerial imagery, complemented by on-street verification. so that it would be copyright and royalty-free. Notably, over 15km² of the city centre was mapped from scratch. Over the years, Jason has undertaken additional extensions to the base mapping, including the Edgbaston neighbourhood, and a series of updates as necessary for the Commonwealth Games in 2022.
